Privacy Policy
This policy explains how components.email (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use our website and workspace to build, preview, and export interactive email components.
Who is responsible
The service is operated for business customers and their teams. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@components.email.
What we collect
- Account data — email address, name, sign-in method (email/password or social login where enabled), and profile fields you provide in onboarding or settings.
- Workspace content — components you create, export settings, fonts or assets you upload, and team sharing choices.
- Usage and opens — when live components are opened in email, we may record open events and a per-recipient identifier you configure (for example an ESP merge tag). This helps you measure engagement in the product.
- Billing — if you subscribe, payment and subscription status are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Optional integrations — if you connect social feeds or configure data export, we store the settings and credentials needed to run those features (tokens are encrypted where applicable).
- Technical data — basic logs and security data from our hosting provider (for example IP address, browser type, and request timestamps).
How we use your data
We use personal data to:
- Provide and secure the service you signed up for;
- Render live components and show usage in your dashboard;
- Process subscriptions and usage-based charges;
- Send service-related messages (for example account or billing notices);
- Improve reliability and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal data. We send data to subprocessors only as needed to run the product (for example hosting, database, payments, and destinations you configure for analytics export).
Legal bases (UK / EEA users)
Where applicable, we rely on:
- Contract — to deliver the service you requested;
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the platform, balanced against your rights;
- Consent — where you opt in to optional features or marketing emails.
Retention
We keep account and workspace data while your account is active. If you delete your account from Settings, we remove your profile, owned components, and team memberships as described in the product. Some billing or security records may be kept longer where the law requires it.
Your choices
- Update profile and integration settings in the dashboard;
- Download a JSON account export from Settings → Privacy & account;
- Delete your workspace from the same screen (type DELETE to confirm);
- Contact us to ask questions or exercise privacy rights available in your region.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. We use reputable vendors and contractual safeguards where required.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 16. Do not use it if you are under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and adjust the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
